the people behind Advertising M&A

The team behind Advertising M&A

Chris Still decided to set up this consultancy in 2001 to answer a real need in the industry. Whilst running several businesses he found there was no one with specific industry expertise to help him buy and sell businesses involving people, creative talent and intellectual property.

Chris Still

Chris is Chairman and founder of Advertising M&A and heads up a team of consultants out of London, backed up by a comprehensive research department.

All the consultants are experts in their particular field of communications and all have at least 10 years’ experience working in agencies or the media. They make it a rule never to put a consultant on your business who has not had experience on your side of the business.

Chris works closely with all other offices and consultants on the strategic direction of each of their clients.

In his time, Chris has run a fully listed UK PLC, a Top-10 advertising agency, founded two creative shops that were both Runner-Up Agency of the Year and created the No.1 media agency in the UK at the time.

He’s also very proud of devising and writing a TV golf series called A Golfer’s Travels with Peter Alliss that enabled him to meet Gene Hackman, Alan Shepherd, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Alice Cooper amongst
other luminaries.

Chris Still

Who would you most like to meet, alive
or dead?

Muhammed Ali . No doubt at all.

What’s the perfect place to be?

Listening to Maria Callas singing Madame Butterfly on the shores of Torre del Lago. Or having a big Sunday dinner with family and partners Italian style!

What excites you about your industry?

The digital world, the gadgets, the technology, the talent.

What’s the one thing you must do before
you die?

I’ve always wanted to fly in space. Nearest I’ve got is a flight in Concorde next to Robert Maxwell. A bit of a squeeze but amazing views of the curvature of the earth.

If you could go back in time and give yourself some advice at the beginning of your career, what would it be?

Be confident, listen but then do it your way.
